A Busy Month for Our Head of APAC: Key Insights from Recent Events
Our Head of APAC, Ben Wark, has had an eventful month, actively participating in several key industry events. From attending the Global Food Summit to presenting at the VegNet Horticulture Winter Warmer session, and gathering valuable insights at the Australian Cotton Conference, it has been a month of engaging discussions and knowledge-sharing.
Global Food Forum
The Global Food Forum provided critical insights into the urgent need for a coordinated approach between industry and government to streamline investment, simplify the bureaucracy surrounding climate reporting, and establish robust, repeatable frameworks that incentivize the food and fibre supply chains to improve sustainability practices. The forum underscored the importance of collaboration in driving meaningful change across the sector.
VegNet Horticulture Winter Warmer Session
At the VegNet Horticulture Winter Warmer session, our Head of APAC presented to a focused group of horticultural professionals deeply interested in showcasing their regenerative farming methods. The discussion highlighted how these growers can systematically and consistently demonstrate their practice changes, emphasizing the importance of transparent and repeatable approaches to represent sustainable agriculture effectively.
Australian Cotton Conference
The four-day Australian Cotton Conference featured a line-up of outstanding local and international speakers, providing valuable perspectives on an industry that often faces scrutiny. The standout message from the conference was the growing need for the cotton and natural fibres sector, including wool, to better communicate the strides it is making in reducing energy consumption, herbicide and pesticide use, and water usage. The industry is being called upon to more effectively showcase its efforts to produce truly sustainable, natural fibres.
Our Head of APAC's participation in these events reflects our ongoing commitment to staying at the forefront of sustainable agriculture discussions and contributing to the development of impactful solutions for our industry partners.
