Professor Jacqueline McGlade

Professor Jacqueline McGlade is one of the world’s leading authorities on how data can be used to understand natural capital and build an equitable and sustainable future.
During her career she has spearheaded environmental science programmes at the highest level, serving as Chief Scientist of the UN Environment Programme and Executive Director of the European Environment Agency.
A highly esteemed academic, Jacqueline has also published more than 200 highly-cited research publications, and currently serves as a professor at both Strathmore University Business School and University College London.
She has dedicated her life’s work to interpreting and sharing data with the global community to help societies survive the environmental challenges ahead, for which she was awarded the 2013 Global Citizen prize. This experience inspired Jacqueline to found Downforce Technologies, together with Maria Whittaker, to provide businesses, land stewards and governments with critical information to stem the climate crisis and safeguard our planet, our livelihoods and our future.
